Below is a list of the solar Kits we sell. These kits can be used for all ages but may require adult help for children below the age of 9.

Basic Model - Solar or Battery

This basic model is all push fit and so requires NO glue to assemble it.

The kit can be rebuilt into a car, truck or van with materials you might find around home.

All orders come with a serries of videos on a USB on how to put the kits together and some helpful ideas plus movies of actual races.

We have three options with the basic model. 1. Just the battery powered car as in the photo top left. 2. Basic car with the 1.5v solar panel. 3. Basic car with the 2v panel. The larger the panel the faster the car. Pricing below.

Advanced Model Solar Car

This is by far our most popular kit. At a good price it gives options to vary and explore the effect of wheel size, gear ratio, solar vs battery and size of car/weight.

This kit is ideal for STEM projects.

Again orders comes with a USB of videos to help put the kit together, tips and races from the UNSW event. The kit is push fit so does not require glue to assemble it.

The battery pack is provided to allow the car to run without a solar panel. If the sunlight is extremly low its handy to have a battery or it can be a great way to test at home.

This model can be great for a STEM project, explore the science of solar, gear ratio, wheel size and test your engineering skills. This is a great kit to design small 3D printed parts to make it more efficient.

Basic Boat Kit - Solar or Battery

This Boat Kit Can be supplied with ether a solar panel or just a battery pack. While it may seem simple, and it can be, to make a really fast boat requires a large amount of design and testing.

It can be a great STEM project for both Primary or Secondary students.

This can also be a great project to use recycled goods to make the boat so we can supply the kit without the polystyrene block. Just ask when ordering.

    Parts

Starting with a retangular block will allow you to come up with lots of different designs. A kids paddling pool is a great testing site. You can design extra parts and 3D print them to improve your model. Its a great STEM project and don't forget the boat might need a crew!

Advanced Plus Solar Car Kit

This model is an extension of the Advanced kit.

STEM at its best. Extra gears, two solar panels and two way switch allows for more variation and speed. Plus a whole lot more challenges

This kit allows for lots of experimentation. The two solar panels allow for series and parallel connection plus all the other changes for the advanced kit. Also two pinion gears opens up a whole new range of gear ratios.
