Basic Model - Solar or Battery

This basic model is all push fit and so requires NO glue to assemble it.
The kit can be reused in a class enviroment and become a resource for each year. Or it can be a great platform to buid a car, truck or van which the students can take home.
All orders come with printed instructions plus a link to our YouTube site for videos with step by step instructions.
We have three options with the basic model. 1. Just the battery powered car as in the photo top left. 2. Basic car with the 1.5v solar panel. 3. Basic car with the 2v panel. The larger the panel the faster the car. We can also vary the size wheels. Pricing below.

Advanced Model Solar Car

This is by far our most popular model to date. At a good price it gives options to vary and explore the effect of wheel size, gear ratio, solar vs battery and size of car plus weight.
This kit is ideal for STEM projects. It is a great class project and a lead into our more advanced kits plus the solar event we run a the University of New South Wales.

The battery pack is provided to allow the car to run without a solar panel. If the sunlight is
extremly low its handy to have a battery or it can be a great way to test in the classroom.
This model can be great for a STEM project, "build the fastest solar car" so students can
explore the science of solar, gear ratio, wheel size and the engineering of a good car plus the racing
and timing over a 20m track. This is a great kit to design small 3D printed parts to make it more efficient.
MiniSprint Solar Car Kit

This model is an extension of the Advanced kit and can also be used in the event at UNSW called SunSprint. This event is held at the University around October each year and open to primary and secondary student teams. The link below will provide more information. Along with the work I do at the university I run the event.

This kit allows for variation and experimentation. The two solar panels give the opportunity to test for
series and parallel connection.
Also two pinion gears opens up a whole new range of gear ratios.
The SunSprint event at UNSW provides a good outcome for a unit of work.
I also run Teacher workshops based on this event and is aimed at giving you enough help
to get a ciriculum based unit of work up and running.
